I want to tell you a little more about what you can expect with the Eat Your Greens with Dr. Black Podcast. If you want to improve your own health, and the health of your family, this is the podcast for you – and let me be clear – that describes every single family I have encountered in my 20+ years of practicing pediatrics.

I went into healthcare because I genuinely want to help people. But let’s face it, there are only so many patients I can see in a day. I know that parents have lots of questions about the best way to feed their children. People want to improve their diet and overall health, but the media is full of mixed messages about how to do that.

Over the course of my career, I’ve seen the rates of eating disorders sky-rocket – particularly since the pandemic. At the same time, I’m diagnosing more and more kids with high cholesterol, pre-diabetes, and actual full-blown diabetes. It is clear something is gravely wrong.

I can’t fix healthcare, but I can change how I practice healthcare. I can add my voice to the growing movement of doctors who see an urgent need to tackle some of the challenges we face today. And I can be a part of that movement toward change.

That’s why I’m motivated start a podcast. I want to help as many people as I can feed their family right, get little kids off to the best start possible, and help teens and parents achieve their health goals.

Eat Your Greens with Dr. Black is dedicated to fostering healthy habits for families with children of all ages. Starting later this year, you’re going to get episodes that bust myths about popular fad diets, delve into what a healthy diet actually looks like, and reveal secrets about how to manage your grocery budget without resorting to the dollar menu at the fast-food drive through.  I’ll be sitting down with other pediatricians to have frank conversations about current challenges in healthcare, interview experts in the field of health and nutrition, and even visit some local restaurants where they are serving up healthy plant-based meals.

I hope you’ll join me in exploring how a plant-predominant diet can help you and your family.

Thanks for listening and don’t forget to Eat Your Greens!
